Business activities perk up in Zambo Norte, says DTI
Dipolog City (PIA) — Amid the financial crisis besetting the world today, certain investors have come to put up their businesses in Zamboanga del Norte.
Nick Nacaytuna of the local office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said in an interview that the POMS Venture Corp. has put up a processing plant for dried mango and mango puree at the Provincial Agri-Industrial Center (PAIC) in Irasan, Roxas, Zamboanga del Norte. Its products are now being sold here and abroad.
An Indian national known as Swadesh Rawat has also showed interest in setting up a dairy plant here. His company, Asia Milk and Cream Inc., is now considering putting the dairy plant either in this city or the neighboring towns.
According to Nacaytuna the business activities in the province have perked up despite the economic downturn that sweeps across the world.
With the favorable peace and order condition in the province more particularly in the cities of Dipolog and Dapitan coupled with the proximity to the markets in the Visayas, more businessmen are expected to come and start investing here. (PIA-ZN)
